President appoints Tribunal to investigate Auditor General

President Bio has appointed a tribunal to investigate the Auditor General Lara Taylor-Pearce, who has been suspended based on the accusation of breaking the 2016 Financial Management Act, the 2017 Fiscal Management and Responsibility Act, and the 2016 National Public Procurement A

A press release from the State House office of the Press Secretary and Spokesman dated 17 November 2021 states that “following consultation with the Judicial and Legal Service Commission pursuant to Section 137(5)(a) of the Constitution of Sierra Leone, 1991… The President has appointed a Tribunal to investigate the Auditor General, Lara Taylor-Pearce, and the Deputy Auditor-General, Tamba Momoh for alleged misconduct and lack of professional performance in their activities as Auditor-General and Deputy Auditor-General respectively, of Audit Service Sierra Leone.”

According to the release the Tribunal consists of Hon. Justice Nyawo Finda Matturi-Jones as the Chairman; Lahai M. Farma and Abu Bakar King as members.
