Dr. Samura Kamara docked on corruption charges

Dr. Samura Mathew Wilson Kamara, former Foreign Minister in Ernest Bai Koroma’s cabinet, made his first appearance today, Tuesday, December 14, 2021, at the court in Freetown to answer questions about corruption accusations.
It could be recalled that the Sierra Leone Anti-Corruption Commission filed a lawsuit against Dr. Samura Kamara for alleged misappropriation of funds meant for the renovation of Sierra Leone’s Chancery Building in New York. Dr. Samura Kamara and 5 others are currently before the Anti-Corruption Court, presided over by Hon. Justice A.J. Fisher.
30 counts for the 1st accused, 20 counts for the 2nd accused, 4 counts for the 3rd accused, 16 counts for the 4th accused, 2 counts for the 5th accused, and 4 counts for the 6th accused.
5 of the accused persons are being represented by a battery of lawyers, while there was no representation for the sixth accused, Jules Sanders Davis.
