Maritime Boss To Make Salone White-Listed For Maritime Industry

Sierra Leone’s reinstated Executive Director of the Maritime Administration, Paul Sobba Massaquoi, has hit the ground running by attending the International Maritime Organization (IMO) general assembly. Massaquoi submitted Sierra Leone’s ratified and domesticated Maritime STCW statutory instrument to the IMO Secretary General, which prompted an IMO visit to Sierra Leone in April to assess the country’s readiness to become a white-listed country.

Massaquoi is seeking support from all stakeholders, including the supervising ministry, board, and parliament, to achieve this goal. Becoming a white-listed country will have a significant impact on Sierra Leone’s blue economy.
