This is why he decided to take off his work suit, fold his sleeves, and run for Mayor of Freetown.

According to Gento, “Freetown has degenerated to the lowest ebb of moral decadence; their is no longer respect for elders; profanity has become the grundnorm. Freetown use to have values we enjoyed growing up.”

“I’m running for the Mayoral office for the Municipality of Freetown under the flagship of the Sierra Leone Peoples Party (SLPP) because I believe in President Julius Maada Bio’s commitment and his plans for Sierra Leone. Furthermore, I know the individual sacrifice he has made in past and at present for this country to enjoy the peace we are now enjoying.”

Hence, I advised him to have dialogue with now President Maada Bio to settle their differences and calm down tension among their supporters in order to keep the peace. Both of them heed to my advice and had an hour long meeting, after which they applauded me for the initiative,” he said.

Gento disclosed after that meeting unscrupulous individual started creating bottlenecks on payments that should be made to my company accusing of financing President Maada Bio.

The can be so selfish to a point that they do things which are detrimental to the State. If the relationship between President Bio and former President is sour, I’m the one who is feeling it the most because I know both of them,” he said.

“There are top raking APC politicians are are coming to see President Bio and gossip things which are untrue about former President Ernest Koroma, just to create problem for their own selfish ambitious not know that they are destroying the State.

This is bad!” I ‘m tired of people telling me I’m a business man i should not get involve in politics, I’m taking this bold step to stop these bad politicians,” he said.
